About INTAKE SURVEYS- EN INTERVIEWS
We never (really, never!) just ‘deliver a training’. Every training and learning intervention will be build up around concrete learning goals. And with the desired participant experience as a starting point. Intake surveys (online) en intake interviews (live of virtual) are crucial to make sure we are all aligned on context and learning goals in our learning journey. Learning goals will determine the set-up, content and approach of our ‘learning journey’.
(Online) Intake Survey
In order to prepare the participants and to provide the trainer with input and insights, we invite the participants to complete an online “intake survey”. Within the framework of learning objectives we defined, we will ask them about their personal development objectives. What do they want to get out of the training? What is their opinion about the current situation? What change is needed? And what is their role in it? By having participants think about this in advance, they (unconsciously) prepare for the training. In addition, this information provides necessary insight for the trainer, so he/she can match the program (even) better to individual learning goals of the participants. By doing so, we ensure that every participant rates the training with at least an 8 (on a scale from 1-10), guaranteed!
Intake Interview
Depending on the purpose of the training, we can decide to replace the online intake survey with a 1-on-1 intake interview. This is usually the case with leadership development programs at senior/executive level, team sessions and coaching programs. The face-to-face approach (or through video calls) makes it possible for the trainer to directly ask for answers and reflect on behaviour (what do you say and what do I see). We can also stimulate the participants even better to formulate their learning goals in a more concrete way.
